A video message from Santa

I stumbled upon a website called MagicSanta. It is a place that you can create a FREE video message from Santa for your child(ren).  You can add your child's name, photo and etc. Oh, and you can choose/add standard scripts that will be said by Santa as well.  Since my oldest daughter learned how to ride a bike this Summer, I choose a script, "You learned to ride a bicycle".

Once you are done, you can review your video and you will receive a final video link via email. I've already received my final video link and showed my oldest the video yesterday.  My daughter really believed that Santa made a special video message for her. It was very realistic as if Santa was really talking to her. She was so amazed about how Santa knew what she has accomplished this year.

I highly recommend everyone to visit http://magicsanta.ca/homepage.html and make your own special video message from Santa for your child(ren). My husband and I truly enjoyed watching our 7 year old's face lit up and happy by watching this video message from Santa. It is totally FREE and will not cost you anything. Enjoy!

Happy Turkey Day!

Happy Turkey Day everyone! I (Poppin' Mom) have a cold and feeling miserable since yesterday. At least I do not have to cook today. I bought a $25 gift card to Boston Market for only $15 from Save.com last month and it arrived just in time for Thanksgiving.  Since all of our family members don't live near us, we have been getting Boston Market meals for Thanksgiving at our house. That is kind of becoming our family tradition. We had a choice of visiting our family members on the east coast this year, but we just did not feel like traveling for 11 hours in a car with two screaming kids. Anyway, I am very thankful for things that we were able to accomplish this year and also thankful for family & friends who supported us. I'm wishing that everyone is going to have a great Thanksgiving day today!

My First Finger Knitting

I'm not really a good knitter, so I looked around and found a way to make a matching hat & scarf by just using my fingers. I found a book called "かんたん&かわいい子供のゆびあみ" (Easy & cute finger knitting book for kids) online. It is a book written in Japanese that is geared towards kids. Oh, I forgot to mention that besides English, I can speak, read and write Japanese. Anyway, I followed the instructions and it was very simple. Although this book was written in Japanese, I think anyone can learn from it.  This book had many pictures & illustrations.

Once I was done making these, my oldest daughter was very happy! Look at the pictures below.  She wore these to school yesterday and her friends were asking if theirs can be made. My daughter now wants to learn finger knitting. I might finger knit with her during Thanksgiving break.

I love handmade stuff. If you have questions about my finger knitting, feel free to leave me a comment. I might even make a tutorial in the future on YouTube....
