My girls and I read the book Wonder by R.J. Palacio. Such an inspirational fiction story. Thanks to Lionsgate my husband and I were able to get free passes to go see an advance screening of the movie, Wonder. When I told my girls that we were going to see the movie, they were super excited! We went to Regal Village Park Stadium 17 in Carmel, IN to see it last night.

My girls and I are book lovers. We tend to love the books better than the movies. However, this movie was wonderful. I think it did a pretty good job of portraying the book. Both of my girls agreed with me as well. My husband never read the book, but he enjoyed the movie. It’s a great family movie that makes you laugh and cry.

The movie opens everywhere this weekend. It is rated PG. In my opinion, it’s a great family movie to go see with the kids third grade and up. My girls are 8th and 3rd graders so this was perfect for them.

If you are looking to go see a movie this weekend, I highly recommend you to go see Wonder. Check out the movie's official website here for more information about the movie. Or watch the trailer below:

My little girl’s $5 challenge!

My little girl’s $5 challenge! I gave her a Kohl’s $5 promotional offer card that came in the mail. I wanted to see if she can walk out from the store without paying any money! And she did! She scored two free Godiva chocolate candy bars. She was so proud of herself. She is learning to shop smart.

Goodbye Christopher Robin

My husband and I managed to get free advanced movie screening passes from to see Goodbye Christopher Robin last night at Landmark Theatres Keystone Art Cinema. I believe that this movie has been showing in select US theaters since Oct. 13th, but it will start showing in Indianapolis tomorrow night (10/26) at Keystone Art Cinema

If you are big fan of Winnie-the-Pooh, you must see this movie. You will appreciate Winnie-the-Pooh even more if you know the story behind it. It was a very touching story of how Winnie-the-Pooh was created based on a true story. It will make you cry. I did. My girls also went with us and they said they enjoyed the movie. It is rated PG so parents, you will need to watch the trailer / read the descriptions to decide whether or not it's appropriate for your child(ren). For more info about this movie opening in Indianapolis, check out its trailer and ticket information by clicking here

Purdue Space Day Experience

Purdue Space Day 2017
My little girl had a great time attending Purdue Space Day this past Saturday. This was her first time attending the program and she had a blast. She has been seeing her big sister attend every year since 2012, so it was very special for her to finally attend.

Purdue Space Day is a free annual event for 3rd -8th graders offered at Purdue University in West Lafayette, Indiana. However, space is limited and signing up with an online registration is required about a couple months before the event. It is a program that teaches STEM education through fun activities. Saturday's event started out by the presentation given by guest astronaut Mark Polansky. After the presentation, my little girl participated in the activities. The 3rd & 4th graders’ hands on activities were Egg Drop, Stomp Rockets and Life in Space. My little girl said that it was so much fun! When all the activities were complete, they ended the day with a group photo taken with astronaut Mark Polansky.

When my husband checked out our little one from her class, we happened to see astronaut Mark Polansky walking back with his chaperone. My little girl ran up to him and simply asked him if she could take a picture with him. He smiled and said “Yes!” So sweet of him. How often do you get to take a picture with an astronaut?! The best of all is that he is a Purdue alum as well. Yes, we love Boilermakers!

Astronaut Buzz Aldrin
Purdue Space Day 2015
Beside attending Saturday's event, my oldest one also had a wonderful time in the past 5 years attending Purdue Space Day. The most memorable astronauts she’s met in the past are Buzz Aldrin & Jerry Ross. My husband and I are so thankful for all the guest astronauts attending Purdue Space Day, the volunteers & the student volunteers for their hard work & for all of them becoming great role models for my daughters. My oldest’s has now set her future goals to attend Purdue (STEM field) and is hoping to volunteer for Purdue Space Day to give back. We can’t wait to see her accomplish her goals in the future.

Purdue Space Day 2016

I highly recommend this program if you are looking for free educational things to do in the future. If you missed this year’s Purdue Space Day, there will always be next year. Make sure to keep an eye on Purdue Space Day’s webpage, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram for their updates. They usually post the online registration date a few months in advance. As soon as you find out the online registration date & time, mark your calendar, set your alarm so that you don’t miss out on it! This year the online registration was closed within 30 minutes! Yes, all the spots were gone in 30 minutes. This is a very popular event with limited space, so you need to be very quick to register your child / children.

I wish you luck everyone! I hope your child or children has a chance to attend this wonderful program next year! For more detailed information about this program, please visit Purdue Space Day’s website or their social media links listed below.

My lunch today!

My lunch today! I won a Domino's $5 gift card from Quikly a couple days ago, so I took advantage of it today. Ordered a 16pc Parmesan Bread Bites & a 2-litter coke for only $4.99! After applying my gift card, it only cost me $0.44. I basically only paid tax. I love promotional deals!

Teaching my little one about frugal shopping

I’m starting to teach my little one how to stay on budget. Last weekend, I gave her a $5 off coupon, a $10 Yes2You Rewards money and a 20% off coupon that she can use at Kohl's. Take a look at the picture. She picked a cute panda top & a pair of leggings at the store and paid $5.11 after applying discounts. She went a bit over her budget, but it’s okay since she is still learning. Not bad for just paying $5.11 for a complete outfit!

I believe that it's important to teach your child(ren) how to manage money. If you have coupons, or store cash, why not have your child use them and see how well they can stretch their dollar. It’s a great method for a child to understand how to live a frugal life.

 Happy Savings Everyone!

New NESTEA® Review

Thanks to the MyMagazine™ Sharing Network & NESTEA®, I received 2 coupons to try out NESTEA®'s new ice tea for FREE!  I decided to try a bottle of Lemon flavor and a bottle of peach flavor. According to what’s on the front of the bottles, there are no high fructose corn syrup or artificial colors/flavors contained. I love that!

Both flavors are refreshing and tasted natural, but I probably liked the lemon flavor more than the peach flavor though.  I kind of liked the peach, but I only tasted a very subtle peach flavor. The lemon flavor had a more distinct lemon flavor to it. I have to say that both flavors had a great sweetness to them. My daughter tried them and thought that it was too sweet, but it was perfect level of sweetness for me. Who knows, you may like the peach and not like the lemon. Or you may end up liking them both. Either way, if you are an ice tea lover, I would give this product a try.

If you are lucky, you may be able to snag a coupon for a free bottle. Head over to the NESTEA®’S website and find out!

A great night out!

My family and I had an amazing evening attending a special MAMARAZZI® event held by The MOMS at Indianapolis Motor Speedway last night. We participated in Q&A sessions with the cast of the new movie, "Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Long Haul” that opens at theaters next week on May 19, 2017!

During the Q&A sessions, my little girl's dream came true when she asked a question to Jeff Kinney, the author. My little one is a big fan of the series so this was just a great experience for her. She also managed to get autographs from Alicia Silverstone, Tom Everett Scott, Jeff Kinney and Jason Drucker at the red carpet. Seeing an advanced screening of the movie was a sweet treat! Both of my girls enjoyed the movie!

A special thank you to The MOMS Denise & Melissa for inviting my family to this special event. You two are awesome! Hope you have a Happy Mother’s Day! #DOWKMOMS
