Have you read author / illustrator Troy Cummings’ new picture book, “Can I Be Your Dog?” Oh, my! This book will melt every dog lover’s heart. It is such a sweet book. We purchased his book at Kids Ink Children’s Bookstore during a book signing event back in April.
The book is about a homeless dog named Arfy who tries to find his forever home. Our girls are older, but every once in a while, they still love to read picture books. Especially if it’s a dog related book and written by Troy Cummings! This book has a great message about helping homeless dogs / animals. Every current or future dog owner might want to consider reading this book. We highly recommend it.
We have been fortunate to meet the author several times. Author / illustrator Troy Cummings lives right here in Indiana! We’ve already met him three times. The first was at the Indiana State Library while attending a Letter’s About Literature ceremony and two more times at book signing events at Kids Ink Children’s Bookstore (Indianapolis) & B&N (Indianapolis). We’ve enjoyed meeting him. Not sure if he is going to have more book signing events, but if you are interested, just follow him on his social media pages. He usually announces his book signing events there. That’s how we’ve found out about all his book signing events. Follow him via Twitter @troycummings & Instagram @troxcummings.
If your kids love books about dogs, check out “Can I Be Your Dog?” next time you go to the bookstore. For more detailed information about this book, head over to the publisher’s website by clicking here. We are not sure if this book is available at the libraries yet. However, you may want to check with your local library to see if it’s available. Oh, and don’t forget to check out his other books as well. We’ll list some of our favorites below. The links below will take you to the author’s webpage.
Happy Reading Everyone!
